PMOGlobal Music Honours Michael Anyiam-Osigwe with ‘Flipside’


Four month after Michael Anyiam-Osigwe, brother of the founder African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), Peace, was shot dead by armed robbers in Edo state, PMOGlobal has decided to honour him.

On the eve of what would be the birthday of her brother, Michael Anyiam-Osigwe, 14th April, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, former CEO of Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) and TED Fellow, re-issues ‘FlipSide’, a song written and produced by MCAO, as Michael was known in the 90s, through PMOGLOBAL Music, by soul music sensation, Edge.

Edge is currently signed to PMOGLOBAL Music. Born Edge Golbador in Lagos and raised in Jos, Edge is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and composer, originally from Bayelsa State, who is gifted with a unique voice and singing style, which captivate. With a mixture of clambered African fusion. meddled with jazz, soul, rock and R&B, he is considered one of the finest vocalists to have come out from the African music scene.

He has shared same stage with Asa, Viviane N'dour, 2Face and many other artistes.

His musical influences range from Maxwell, D'Angelo, John Legend, Bruce Springsteen and Fela Kuti.

Mr. Anyiam-Osigwe was the Coordinator General of the Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe Foundation. He was also a member of its Board of Trustees and the Director of the Africa Institute for Leadership Research and Development in South Africa. He was also the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Malawi to Nigeria.
He studied Economics and obtained a Masters Degree in Social Anthropology and Musicology from Goldsmiths College, University of London.
