Coded Tune, for some time has been underground, but currently there is a wind of change blowing in the camp of ID Cabasa. The record label which has churned out some of the well-known indigenous talents we have in the country the likes of Lord of Ajasa, Reminisce, Olamide, 9ice, among others is undergoing some metamorphosis as its gets a new Managing Director, simply known as IBEN as well as signing on two new acts- Afro Fusion artiste Gaise and a rapper Chineke Boy. Both acts were recently unveiled to the press.
Addressing journalist at the press briefing, IBEN the new MD of Coded Tunes revealed his dream for the label. According to him, “It’s not just about the reunion concert. The reunion concert is great. It’s a concept that is berth out of bringing together all the artistes that Coded Tunes have produced or discovered over the years. And not only that it’s also to bring together all of the artistes that ID Cabasa have worked with. And it’s been a long time coming for them to all come together to showcase good music like they used”.
IBEN commended ID Casaba’s creative ingenuity, for understanding the science of finding a new act, developing, grooming and taking them to the market to appreciate. “We use this opportunity to introduce to you two new acts, new genre of music, individual talent that ID Cabasa and Coded Tune have been working with for the past couple of months. These guys have been working really hard with ID Cabasa and now we unveil them to you, to have the honour of listening to their music first. We want you to take your time to critic the music. We believe that your opinion matter that’s why we decided to create this forum, “enthused IBEN.
He added: “Gaise has been in the industry but we are privileged to sign him up recently after his contract was over with his former record label. And we have plans to showcase him like never before because he’s a heck of a talent. And Chineke Boy, all I can just say is watch out”.
Chineke Boy expressed his delight for been signed onto Coded Tunes and squashed any tale of competition between himself and Phyno. “Professionally, I’ve been a rapper for about six years now. Respect to those who have been there before me but this is Chineke Boy, I do me. I do good music”. Competition is growth. However I don’t compete with people. I just want to be the best in what I do. I’m over joyed to be part of the label and I hope to add value to them”.

In his remark, Gaise Baba said the contract is a fair. “It is a fair contract. I can tell you that because I have had a contract before. I have been on a label before. This is my second label that I’m working with and I can tell that the contract is a fair one”.
