President Jonathan To Amaechi: ‘You Are A Rascal’

The political confrontation raging between the Presidency and Governor Amaechi intensified yesterday, with the presidency describing Governor Rotimi Amaechi as a rascal and warning him to stop insulting President Goodluck Jonathan or be ready to face the consequences of his utterances, including legal actions.

Punch report has it that both spouses replied to the member of card holder of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
President Goodluck Jonathan made a statement through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, calling the allegations “baseless”. Expressing shock over the fact that Amaechi had lost the sense of responsible political behaviour adding that he was pursuing his selfish political interests.
“Governor Rotimi Amaechi took his obnoxious willingness to denigrate the highest office in the land in a reckless bid to advance his selfish political interests to a new level of irresponsible and rascally behaviour yesterday (Saturday) in Port Harcourt with his totally false and baseless vituperations against President Jonathan, the First Lady and the Federal Government.”
Goodluck Jonathan also accused Amaechi of losing the “touch with reality”.
“We can only assume therefore that he is deliberately spewing malicious falsehood in a desperate effort to incite the people of Rivers State and Nigeria against his assumed political foes.”
He warned Amaechi against crossing both legal and moral limits by such claims, which aim at tarnishing his wife’s reputation.
“The immunity which he currently enjoys notwithstanding, Governor Amaechi should be under no illusions: A day of reckoning will surely come when he will answer for all his actions and false allegations against President Jonathan, the First Lady and the Federal Government. He should also know that Nigerians are aware of the truth and will never be fooled or swayed by his arrant opportunism and anti-Jonathan ranting.”

On the same day Patience Jonathan reacted with a statement made by her media assistant, Mr. Ayo Adewuyi, describing Amaechi’s allegations as a lie meaning to rubbish Presidency.
“Having waited patiently for Governor Amaechi to refute the statement credited to him about the First Lady, (with the assumption that he was misquoted), it has become clear that it was a deliberate attempt to malign Dame Patience Jonathan and score cheap political point. The governor may have been beclouded by the political uncertainty surrounding him to make such a jaundiced and unsubstantiated allegation that the First Lady asked him to bring Rivers State’s money to share.”
President’s wife shared her opinion that Amaechi “is looking for a cheap excuse for his failure in the governance of the state”.
She debunked the claim that she had ever requested him to giver her Rivers money, either directly or indirectly.
Patience Jonathan, who comes from River State, stressed the importance of setting peaceful, free of political wars, atmosphere in the state for improving socio-economic development in the territory.
It would be recalled that on Saturday Amaechi accused Jonathan and his administration of failure to implement the projects initiated by the governor, of encouraging corruption. Moreover, the politician insisted that his problems with Dame Patience started when he refused to share “Rivers peoples money” with her.

The Fear Of Ebola: Morocco Withdraws As Host Of AFCON 2015

The Ebola pandemic has lead hosts of the 2015 African Cup of Nations, Morocco, to withdraw from hosting.

The Moroccan government had asked CAF to let them host the 2017 edition or to push the tourney to 2016, but following no response from CAF, have announced their withdrawal from the event.
A member of the Moroccan FA, who spoke anonymously, said: “Since CAF rejected all our requests and suggestions then we are forced to withdraw from hosting Afcon 2015 with immediate effect to preserve the safety of our citizens and for that we are prepared to take any consequences that comes with our actions.”

South Africa has been tipped to replace Morocco as the host, but they have also stated they will not be hosting the tourney.
AFCON 2015 will not be held here. That issue does not exist and CAF must discuss this matter with Morocco,’ SAFA chief Danny Jordaan said.

Broke Buhari Cries: “I pity Myself” As He Picks APC Presidential Nomination Form

Former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, has picked the expression of interest and nomination forms to run for Nigeria’s highest office on the platform of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC at the national secretariat.
Buhari-wept. 360nobs.jpg,,

Mr Buhari, who is running for the fourth time, complained that the N27.5million cost of the forms was too exorbitant but that he was helpless in getting it reduced.
“It’s a pity I couldn’t influence this amount to be put down ‎as in the case of ladies and the disable that intend to participate. I always look left and right in our meetings but I could not read sympathy, so I kept my trap.

“But I felt heavily sorry for myself because I don’t want to go and ask somebody to pay for my nomination forms, because I always try to pay myself, at least for the nomination.
“N27 million is a big sum, thankfully I have personal relationship with the manager of my bank in Kaduna and I told him that very soon the forms are coming, so, whether I am on red, or green or even black please honour it otherwise I may lose the nomination.
“I was about to go to Kaduna this morning and I told the Chairman but he said in that case, you better pick your form and keep a straight face that means there is no excuse,” Mr. Buhari said.

The APC National Chairman, John Oyegun, told Mr. Buhari and his entourage that the party decided to make the nomination fees high “in order to separate the men from the boys”.

BBA Hotshots: Confession Time With Biggie

The diary sessions with Biggie on the 10th of October was quite interesting as he brought up the topic of eviction. More so, Bibi seemed to more interested in the developing romantic relationships between the housemates in the house as well as latent conflicts arising. The divisions seem clearly divided between the ‘villagers’ and the ‘dreamers’.

Luis was first up in the diary room and it was obvious that he was avoiding answering questions in relation to Tai-tai. He however confessed having feelings for Mira to Biggie. It was surprising when was Mira’s turn, she too admitted rather weakly to having feelings for Luis. This perhaps might be attributed to her her feelings not being as strong as Luis’, her relationship with Nhlanhla or her characteristic shyness getting the better of her.

Nhlanhla on his part admitted to relating well with Mira and confesses that he is enjoying breaking down Sheillah’s hard resolve as he hopes to get more intimate with her without pursuing a relationship.
Sheilla described herself as a ‘persuasive’ being which other housemates may misconstrue as being ‘Bossy’. She believes that she is getting stronger as the competition progresses.
Ellah believes that the competition is getting tougher. Biggie proceeded to ask the housemates about the dynamics in the house, since the splitting of the housemates into teams. Ellah admitted that relations were strained and she went on to tell Biggie for she wanted to be head of house and have the ability to make some changes which can only be achieved with a power shift.

Alusa was blunt as he told Biggie that the divide had caused disquiet in the house. Frankie and Goitse, also admitted to noting the tension in the house but both felt it had been improving; while Butterphly and Mr 265 both told Biggie that they believed that people had been too sensitive about the whole matter. Idris, told Biggie that he was nervous about the Extravaganza performance saying that he believes his group has a good story and positive energy but were not ready yet. Wearing a Jed Eye ninja inspired ensemble, he told Biggie about his connection to Goitse saying “she brings something out in me.”
During Samantha’s Diary session with Biggie, She noted that while she was part of the ‘dream team’, the presence of too many talented individuals in the group was causing problems as egos were clashing resulting in too little work being done. JJ and Kacey Moore both expressed their frustration with the egos clashing with Arthur saying he thinks “Everyone wants to be a director”Frustration reigned supreme for Kacey Moore and JJ about clashing egos, and Arthur told Biggie: “Everyone wants to be director”.

It was however surprising when Biggie, in a suspicious move asked the quiet and reserved Mozambican representative -Trezagah to keep an eye on the housemates for him by helping him gather Intel on them. Macky2 whose birthday happens to be today told Biggie that with comedians, Dancers and Musicians in the ‘Dream team’, they had the higher chance of performing better at the Extravaganza. Biggie also told Macky2 he had something special waiting for him in the storeroom.

Tayo on his part told Biggie that he’d been studying people, saying He’d  noticed JJ to be a superficial person whom he described as desperate to stand out saying he was not to be trusted

Excitement as Funmi Fibresima’s Onikola premieres in style

Last Sunday, the movie theater, City Mall Ikeja was aglow with movie buffs who came to register their presence and align themselves with the talented actress, media personality cum producer, Funmi Fibresima who premiered her debut movie  Onikola, a film on genital mutilation.
The movie which parades stars like Ronke Ojo ( Oshodi Oke), Ibrahim Chatta, Sunday Afolabi, Dejumo Lewis, Bunmi Olatilewa and Tola Oladokun who gave award-winning performances was written by Gbenga Adesanya, Steve Anu Adesemoye, Abosede Oshin and directed by Dotun Taylor.
The best moment of the night came during the screening of the movie as the guests were entertained and tickled by the acting prowess of amazing fresh faces in the movie industry, the duo of Funmi Fibresima and Yinka Salau. The duo gave an unmatched performance and turned heads amid cheers.
Set in Iseyin in Oyo State, Onikola is a fiction film that has the feel and workings of real life situation. Many scenarios appear as if they have been lifted directly from traditional realities of Nigerian life and living.  Movie pundits agree that Onikola has immediate relevance to Nigeria society because it brings to light the harmful side effects of female genital mutilation without flogging the viewers over the head with the message.

The producer of the movie, manage to fuse entertainment and romance while delivering a strong message against the social misnomer.
The intrigue-filled, informative and educative film centres on Kumbi (Funmi Fiberesima) who is firm on her resolve to not to be circumcised. She sacrifices everything including her love for Okiki (Sunday Afolabi) and risks being rejected by her people, most of all her mother Abebi (Bunmi Olatilewa).

On the other side of the wall is Omosewa (Ronke Ojo), who is circumcised and as a result becomes emotionless and suffers ridicule in the hands of her husband. She however develops the courage to express her feelings about a tradition which challenges her sexuality and those of her friends.
Onikola is a movie that evokes emotion, love and regret. As Fiberesima puts it, it’s like using a tool that’s available to passage a message across.

“I thank God I had a very responsive crowd. Hearing their responses was like wow. I could have communicated it in any other language but Yoruba Language film seem to reach out to people more a whole lot of Yoruba people are still been subjected to circumcision.
“I have watched the clip of a live circumcision and I was tormented for days by the child’s scream. Anytime I hear the child’s scream what comes to my mind is the joy of the mother. So I see that the mother did this out of love for her child but we know better. There is information now and it is from the experiences of people that we know that this is not what you do to your child,” she said
The movie which is already out on DVD is distributed by Shola Fajobi’s E-force, a leading distribution and marketing company in Nigeria with several media equity use in promotion.

9ice Gushes About His 3rd Baby Mama Giving Him “Peace Of Mind”

9ice welcomed his fourth child sometime last month with his third baby mama and he seems to be pretty excited about the woman in his life.

While speaking with City People in a new interview, the ”Life Drama” singer expressed sincere happiness that his wife gives him peace of mind, he said;

“Let me just tell you this and I pray it will be reported the way I said it to you. It is true that I have a child; it is true that I am with someone named Olasunkanmi Ajala and she is the mother of the child. That is the truth of the story; and if you check my instagram page, you will see my daughter Michelle there. She is there, her name is Michelle Abolanle Akande and she is there. So, it is not something you can hide for long. How can you hide a good news like having a child, it is one of the information you can never hide under the sun; it is a joyful thing.

When the singer was asked about what he admires about his baby mama, he said"

Peace of mind. Ti n ba mu gari ni si yi, gaari yen moju mi dan, ti nba so fun yin pe garri ni mo mu, mo wa okay, afi tin ba bi abi tin ba po ni everybody ma mo pe garri ni bobo yii mu. (If I drink Garri now, I am at peace with myself and the Garri will make me look healty. If I don’t tell you that I drank Garri, you wouldn’t know except I vomit and you see my vomit) But kin je salad constantly, tin baa ru ke’egun , ee ti mope aah, bobo yi o gbadun life e, e woo bo se ru. Beeni, te ba ti ri, ee ti mope aah, bobo yii o wa ok; pelu gbogbo owo to ni. Se, kole jeun to da ni? (But if I eat salad constantly and I am not happy in my heart, you will notice and you will blame me by saying, oh, this guy is rich yet he is looking sick, does it mean he cannot enjoy his money again?) So, emi gigun, Alafia ati ifokan bale ni eyan le fi lo ile aiye, kii se oye owo ta’a kojo. (It is peace and joy that can give you a quality living not the amount of money you have in your account) Eeri bawon politician was en ko owo joo to, won o ni Alafia, won oni fokanbale. Owo ta’a ma ni, tao ni ni ifokanbale, Olorun maje ka’a ni. (Look at the way our politicians are amassing wealth yet they are not at peace even with their health. The money we will have that we will not be at peace with ourselves, may God never give us).
